From struggling students to OpenWisdom guides
We had the lovely opportunity to sit down with some of our alumni and chat about their experiences during their time at OpenWisdom.
They both spoke to us about their fond memories across their time at the centre, and how their transformative relationship with their dedicated tutors helped them kick their HSC goals and set them on the right path for life beyond high school. Inspired by their tutors, Oka and Bassel are now part of the OpenWisdom team, so look out for them around our Hurstville centre!

With over 8 years of experience in HSC education, our team knows that the HSC can often feel like a ‘black box’ for parents and students alike. However, that’s no longer the case for those who joined us at our in-person HSC Preparation seminars this term.
Over 40 parents and students attended our live presentations, where we detangled the confusion around the HSC, ATAR and the implications of subject selections.
Presented in the Level 5 study space at our Hurstville campus, our co-founder James Zhang and successful 2023 graduate Bassel Beydoun unpacked the finer details which are crucial to overcoming senior school challenges and setting HSC students up for success.
By popular demand, we ran an additional seminar at our Burwood Centre, ensuring everyone had the opportunity to hear expert advice from our teaching team, including English tutor, Paul Kim.
For those who missed out on this informative event, keep an eye out for our future Compass events 👀 . You won’t want to miss them!

Know another business who cares about education like we do?
We are always on the look out for organisations who genuinely care about supporting education both in and beyond the classroom.
Just as the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, a thriving community is one that is open to working together with others to support all its members. That’s why we’ve been working behind the scenes to collaborate with local businesses in the greater Hurstville and Burwood area to find ways to better serve our communities.
If you know an organisation who might be interested in working with us to grow our community and spread our message as advocates of life-long learning and youth development, we encourage you to get in contact with us via marketing@openwisdomeducation.com. Our Content and Channel Coordinator, Olivia Di Costanzo, would love to hear from you.
